Strictly, Longborough & Sezincote Village Hall was originally built as a 'Reading Room' for gentlemen only. Following extensions to provide a store room, toilets, kitchen and a second meeting room, now equipped with a 3/4 size snooker table, it became 'The Village Hall' for use by all villagers.
The hall is available for hire at the following rates (effective from September 2023):
Longborough & Sezincote Residents - £10 per hour
Non Longborough Residents - £14 per hour
Hire of Snooker Room - £6 per hour
Use of the kitchen - £10 (includes use of dishwasher, glasses & crockery)
Please note that time for setting up and clearing up will be charged at the applicable rate so allow for this when making a booking.
The expectation is that the hall will be left in a clean and tidy state and all rubbish will be taken away by the hirer. A cleaning charge of £25 will be added in the event that the hall requires cleaning prior to the next user.
In addition, a Gazebo can be hired for £15. We can offer chair/crockery hire for events not in the hall.
We are only able to take bookings for parties for under 12 year olds from Longborough residents.
For Longborough or Sezincote based organisation we offer a discounted rate of £5/hr for meetings only. All other functions are £10/hr.
Insurance
The Village Hall is fully insured for contents and public liability up to £1m
The existing policy can be viewed in the Hall porch.
There is level access from the road into the hall, with only a small threshold to negotiate.
The Main Hall
The main hall is approximately 74 square metres and can accommodate 90 people standing. Our insurance limits the number to 60 if seated theatre style or 50 if seated cabaret style. It is constructed with a wooden floor and has 4 radiators. There is a Table Tennis table which is in regular use by Moreton-in-Marsh U3A as well as some Longborough residents.
We have recently purchased a stand alone speaker system which may be used if desired.
There is also a sophisticated sound and video system that can be used for streaming or presentations. This system also includes an induction hearing loop.
The Snooker Room
The second hall, or Snooker Room, has a 3/4 size snooker table, used regularly by a Thursday afternoon group and two Thursday evening groups who alternate each week.
Kitchen
The kitchen has been completely updated with new units, cooker and industrial dishwasher.
It is very well equipped with new crockery, wine glasses, hi balls and champagne flutes.
Please note that we do NOT provide cooking utensils or pots and pans. (see also the 'News' page)
